Job summary

Lifeworks in Norwood, MA is seeking a part-time Van Driver to transport individuals with ID/DD to appointments and recreational activities. This role emphasizes safety, independence, and compassionate service.

The driver will operate Lifeworks van, ensure passenger safety, complete required paperwork, and participate in trainings. Shift: Mon–Fri, 6:30-10:30 and 12:30-4:30; 40 hours per week is noted for scheduling considerations.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED and 1–3 months related experience or training.
• Must pass Fingerprint background check, CORI, DPPC and Driving background checks.
• Valid Driver's License required.
• Experience driving vans is a plus.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Drives Lifeworks van to transport individuals from homes to worksites. Operates vehicle in a safe and legal manner, adhering to all laws and Lifeworks policies.
• Supervises and ensures the safety of all individuals transported on their vehicles.
• Reports all concerns and issues regarding individuals on vehicle to supervisor.
• Ensures all passengers use seat belts; secures wheelchairs to safety restraints.
• Completes required written documentation in a timely manner (time sheets, maintenance, attendance, incidents).
• Assists passengers into and out of vehicle.
• Maintains effective communication with staff and families; attends transportation meetings and trainings.
