Boys & Girls Clubs of the Peninsula (BGCP) is seeking a part-time Van Driver in South San Francisco to transport students between schools and club sites during the school year. The role reports to the Director of Operations and requires safe driving, logs, and adherence to procedures for student transport.

Responsibilities

• Provide transportation to BGCP students during the school year.

• Manage and uphold the rules and regulations of the parking lot during student pick-up.
• Know travel routes and destinations.
• Be responsible for van repairs in case of emergencies.

Position Overview

As a Van Driver, you will be responsible for transporting our students from their school in South San Francisco to our Orange Park Clubhouse and to their homes during the school year. This position reports directly to the Director of Operations.

Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide transportation to BGCP students during the school year
• Maintain vehicle logs
• Perform routine vehicle safety checks
• Maintain cleanliness and readiness of vans
• Manage and uphold the rules and regulations of the parking lot during student pick-up
• Have familiarity with roads and be responsible for knowing travel routes and destinations
• Be responsible, in case of emergency, for van repairs to manage details of roadside assistance and/or towing
• Provide transportation for meals
• Uphold the rules and regulations of the parking lot during student pick-up
• Perform additional relevant duties as assigned

Qualifications

• At least 21 years old
• Current and valid California Drivers' license (standard class C--no special license required)
• Clean driving record
• Proof of personal auto insurance
• Familiarity with mechanical operations of automobiles a plus
• Ability to work independently and to adapt to changes in a work environment
• High School Diploma or equivalent preferred
• Previous experience with driving high school students a plus

LOCATION

South San Francisco

Transporting students from schools in South San Francisco to Orange Park Clubhouse (Temporary location: 840 W Orange Avenue South San Francisco, CA 94080)

Important Onboarding & Training Dates

• Onboarding Training (Required for All New Hires): Date: Attend one full-day session on September 22nd, 29th, October 6th, 13th Time: 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM Location: 401 Pierce Rd, Menlo Park, CA 94025
• Mandatory Driving Class (Required for Van Driver New Hires): Date: Attend one full-day session (Dates TBD - but typically Saturdays)

WORK SCHEDULE

Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, & Friday: 2 pm - 4 pm

Wednesdays: 1 pm - 3pm

(10 hours/week)

• Employment for June and July is not guaranteed, as the position aligns with the school calendar.

Compensation

• Employment Status: Part-Time, Hourly
• Pay Range: $29.00 per hour

As part of the hiring process, BGCP requires candidates to complete a LiveScan fingerprinting, background check, and tuberculosis (TB) test.
