POSITION TITLE: VAN DRIVER

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
Supports District schools and principals in their effort to foster an optimal educational
environment for students. Driving the van on runs as assigned, ensuring the safety of the
student passengers.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to have regular and reliable attendance, is regularly required to sit, ride long distances on a District Van (could be over bumpy roads), talk and/or hear. The employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; bend at the knees, use hands and fingers, handle or feel objects, tools and/or controls; and reach with hands and arms. Use of computer is occasional.
Physical Demands: The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 125 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include: close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. Random drug and alcohol testing. Van drivers must also pass a D.O.T. physical, vision test, drug and alcohol test and a physical agility test. Blood pressure must not be higher than 140 over 90. Drivers are also required to be certified in both First Aid and CPR.
