Job summary

New Vanderbilt Rehabilitation & Care Center in New York is seeking a compassionate Van Driver to safely transport residents to appointments and activities while prioritizing safety and comfort.

You will assist residents into/out of the vehicle, secure wheelchairs, and maintain safety protocols. CDL Class C with passenger endorsement and a clean driving record are required.

Qualifications

• Valid CDL Class C driver's license with passenger endorsement.
• Clean driving record and history of safe driving.
• Ability to communicate effectively with residents, families and staff.
• Ability to assist residents with mobility and transfers.

Responsibilities

• Drive the vehicle from the facility to events, appointments and other destinations according to schedule.
• Assist residents into and out of the vehicle in a safe manner.
• Secure passengers' wheelchairs to restraining devices to stabilize wheelchairs during transportation.
• Always practice safe driving techniques.
• Report unsafe conditions to the Administrator.
• May perform other duties as needed and/or assigned

Job Summary

The Van Driver is responsible for safely transporting residents to and from appointments, medical visits, and other activities. The Van Driver is also responsible for safely transporting family members who require transportation to visit our residents.

Qualifications

• A valid CDL Class C driver's license with passenger endorsement.
• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Clean driving record with a history of safe driving.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work with a variety of disabilities and personalities.

Responsibilities

• Report on potentially unsafe conditions to the Administrator.
