Van DriverSchedule/Hours: Seasonal, Weekdays and SaturdaysThis position is responsible for:Drives a Salvation Army vehicle in order to transport passengers to and from Salvation Army activities and/or kettle/angel tree sites; makes pick-ups and deliveries of donated items and other supplies.Key Responsibilities:Drives a Salvation Army vehicle during the Christmas season in order to transport passengers to and from Salvation Army activities or sites.Picks-up and delivers miscellaneous items and donated goods, as needed.Drives carefully and observes/complies with all traffic signs and road/weather conditions to ensure the safety of passengers.Logs all mileage on standard forms; ensures the accuracy and completeness of the same.Arrives at destination according to schedule or telephones ahead when severe delays occur.Maintains control of passenger activities by prohibiting unsafe or non-Christian behavior.Physical Requirements and Working ConditionsKnowledge of acceptable driving techniques and practices.Knowledge of safety precautions associated with transporting passengers.Ability to drive a passenger vehicle ensuring the safety of passengers and protection of the vehicle.Ability to read and follow maps.Ability to gauge time needed to arrive at destination.Ability to relate to the general public in a polite, friendly manner.High School Diploma or G.E.D, ANDTwo years experience operating an automotive vehicle, ORany equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.LICENSES AND CERTIFICATIONS:Valid State Driver's LicenseEqual Opportunity Employer: Veterans /Disabled
