YMCA of Concord is seeking a Van Driver / Minibus Driver for its School Age Childcare program in Concord, NH. The role can be driven as transportation-only or combined with a Group Leader role in before/after school programs.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 21 years of age.
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
• Able to meet YMCA driver requirements and pass a MVR check.
• Experience driving a van or minibus preferred (or willing to obtain).
• CPR/AED and First Aid certifications (or willingness to obtain).
• Experience working with children.
• Positive, patient and energetic leadership style.
• Able to pass all required background checks and screenings.

Responsibilities

• Safely transport children to and from YMCA programs, schools, field trips, and events using YMCA vans or minibuses.
• Maintain active supervision of children at all times, including during transportation and transitions.
• Provide a physically and emotionally safe, inclusive environment supporting youth development.
• Lead activities aligned with YMCA standards and NH licensing requirements.
• Build positive relationships with participants, families, school personnel, and YMCA staff.
• Conduct attendance checks and headcounts; ensure children are safely accounted for.
• Perform pre- and post-trip vehicle inspections; report safety concerns.
• Support behavior management and promote positive interactions among participants.
• Maintain transportation records and program paperwork.
• Collaborate with Site Directors to ensure high-quality programming and safe operations.
• Assist with extended-day programming, school vacation camps, and field trips as needed.
• Demonstrate flexibility and professionalism; contribute to a positive team culture.

Van Driver / Minibus Driver for School Age Childcare for Concord YMCA

The Granite YMCA is seeking a Van Driver / Minibus Driver to join our School Age Childcare team! This flexible role can be tailored to fit your interests and availability. Candidates may choose to work as a transportation driver only or combine driving responsibilities with a Group Leader role within our before and after school programs.

This is a great opportunity for individuals who enjoy working with children, have a safe driving record, and want to make a meaningful impact in their community. Positions available at YMCA branches and local elementary schools.

Location: Concord, Boscawen and Webster Routes

Rate of Pay: $15.00-$18.00

Schedule

• Morning Shift: 7:30 AM – 10:00 AM
• Afternoon Shift: 1:45 PM – 4:30 PM
• Additional program hours may be available for candidates interested in combining transportation duties with Group Leader responsibilities.

• Maintain active supervision of children at all times, including during transportation, transitions, and program activities.
• Provide a physically and emotionally safe, inclusive, and engaging environment that supports youth development and well-being.
• Lead and participate in developmentally appropriate activities that align with YMCA standards and New Hampshire state licensing requirements.
• Build positive relationships with participants, families, school personnel, and YMCA staff.
• Conduct attendance checks, headcounts, and ensure all children are safely accounted for during transportation and throughout program operations.
• Perform pre- and post-trip vehicle inspections and report maintenance or safety concerns promptly.
• Support behavior management by setting clear expectations and promoting positive interactions among participants.
• Respond appropriately to incidents, emergencies, and behavioral concerns in accordance with YMCA policies and procedures.
• Maintain accurate transportation records, attendance documentation, and other required program paperwork.
• Collaborate with Site Directors and fellow staff members to ensure high-quality programming and safe daily operations.
• Assist with extended-day programming, school vacation camps, snow days, field trips, and family engagement events as needed.
• Demonstrate flexibility, professionalism, and a commitment to creating a positive team culture.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 21 years of age
• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
• Ability to meet YMCA driver requirements and pass a Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) check
• Previous experience driving a van, mini bus, shuttle, or similar passenger vehicle preferred (or willingness to obtain)
• CPR/AED and First Aid certifications (or willingness to obtain)
• Experience working with children
