Job summary

Rockwell Park Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center in Charlotte, NC is hiring a Van Driver to safely transport residents to appointments and activities. This role requires compassion, reliability, and attention to safety.

You will work with care staff to coordinate transport, perform pre-trip inspections, and assist residents with boarding. Prior experience in long-term care is preferred.

Qualifications

• Hold a valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
• Experience transporting residents in a care setting is preferred.
• Ability to communicate clearly with residents and staff.

Responsibilities

• Drive residents to and from appointments and activities.
• Assist residents with boarding and exiting the vehicle.
• Perform pre-trip and post-trip safety inspections of the vehicle.
• Maintain a calm, courteous demeanor with residents and staff.
• Collaborate with care staff to coordinate transportation needs.

Position Summary

We are searching for a dedicated, compassionate, and energetic individual to be a vital link between residents, care staff, and other facility staff. The Resident Transporter is responsible for ensuring residents are safely taken to outings, doctor's appointments, and other activities.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Drive resident to/from appointments
• Assist residents with boarding and exiting vehicle
• Perform pre-trip safety inspections
• Clean Driver's License
• Reliable and careful driver
• Experience in short/long term care setting
• Experience with setting up appointments
