Job Details

1. Meeting deadlines for local pickups and deliveries.
2. Drivers are expected to be uniformed and look neat, clean, and professional.
3. Vehicles must be kept clean and supplies organized.
4. Following special pickup and delivery instructions.
5. Tendering and recovering from the airports.
6. Complying with cold chain management instructions.
7. Maintaining a daily vehicle log and work manifest.
8. Obtaining shipment damage reports, when necessary.
9. Remaining in constant communication with Dispatch department.
10. Demonstrate the ability to load/unload cargo, secure load, and obey traffic rules.
11. Must be willing to travel to any and all sites.
12. Follow COVID-19 protocols for both World Courier and World courier Clients.
13. Must be available for some overtime as some of the driving distances cannot be handled in a typical 8-hour workday.
14. Ability to lift, lower, and slide packages weighing 25 to 70 lbs. Drivers are required to be physically fit.

Qualifications

• Courier experience is preferred.
• General driving knowledge of the airports and tri-state area.
• Dangerous Goods training is a plus.
• TSA training is a plus.
• Cold chain training is a plus.
• Professional demeanor.
• Temperature monitor training.
• Good communication skills.
• Understanding of all applicable Standard Operating Procedures.

Minimum Requirements

• No more than 3 moving violations and/or accidents in the past 3 years.
• No more than 2 moving violations and/or accidents in the past year.
• Drivers should have no "major convictions" within the last 5 years, including:
• Driving while intoxicated or under the influence (DWI or DUI).
• Leaving the scene of an accident.
• Careless or reckless driving violations.
• Homicide or assault through the use of a motor vehicle.
• Attempting to elude a police officer.
• Having a suspended or revoked license or 3 or more license suspensions in the past.
