Job summary

Puffer-Sweiven is seeking a Valve Technician - Control and Isolation Valves for the Houston, TX area. You will test, assemble, and repair valves, documenting results and communicating with customers on status.

The role demands extensive hands-on work with valve assemblies, testing equipment, and field support as needed. The position requires 5–8 years in valve/instrumentation assembly, including MOV experience, and a mix of mechanical and electrical skills.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 5–8 years experience in valve or instrumentation assembly, testing, calibration.
• Experience with MOV preferred.
• Prior manual machine operating experience preferred.
• Mechanical and Electrical experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Tests and assemble valves per manufacturers’ procedures and work orders.
• Documents testing and repair of equipment.
• May communicate with customers about repair/test status.
• Clean corrosive deposits from parts using solvents or brushes.
• Paints valves and fittings using a spray gun.
• Tear down, decontaminate, assemble, repair, and test at the main facility.
• Inspect and verify assembly accuracy against standards.
• Record all test results and handle materials movement.
