Job summary

Professional Alternatives in Stafford, TX is seeking an assembler to join our client’s manufacturing team. The role requires following blueprints and specifications to assemble valves, actuators and gauges, and to perform tests and inspections.

This contract-to-hire position offers an hourly rate of $22-$24, requires a clear background and drug screen, and involves operating tools, lifting and basic safety procedures.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 2+ years experience preferred.
• Clear background and drug screen required.
• Experience with control valves and related components is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Assemble units following blueprints, process charts, and work orders.
• Test valves, actuators and level gauges for leaks, temperature and pressure accuracy.
• Assemble/disassemble components using power and hand tools.
• Position and fasten parts with bolts, screws, or rivets.
• Inspect assembled units for conformance to standards.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Assemble unit by following blueprints, process charts, work orders or other specifications.
• Air/hydro Test valves, actuators and level gauges for leaks, temperature, and pressure settings.
• Assemble/Disassemble valves, actuators and level gauges using power and hand tools.
• Position, fit or align parts on workbench, floor or machine following blueprints, diagrams, guides, reference marks or work orders.
• Hold parts during assembly using hands, clamps, pneumatic presses or other work aids.
• Position and fasten components together with bolts, screws, speed clips, rivets or other fasteners.
• File, grind, plane, sand or buff parts to remove burrs, alter shape, improve fit or smooth finish using hand or power tools.
• Adjust, repair, and/or replace defective product parts.
• Inspect, test and verify accuracy of assembled unit for conformance to standards and customer requirements.
• Report defective materials or questionable conditions to Production Supervisors.
• Record production date on paper or on computer.
• Lift, load, and move supplies and finish product between storage and work area.
• Drives forklifts, lift trucks, pallets jacks.
• Operate over head crane.
• Label product with identifying data.
• Follow safety procedures and regulations.
• Maintain the work area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition.

Safety Procedures

Follow safe work procedures and Company safety policies and procedures, which includes but is not limited to:

• Obeying warning signs and postings
• Immediately reporting any injury, accident, or near-miss incidents
• Reporting unsafe hazards and unsafe conditions
• Completing safety training by the due date
• Using personal protective equipment as required by the employer

• Perform other related duties as assigned by Supervisor.

Education/Knowledge

• High school diploma or equivalent.

Experience/Skills

• 2+ years experience
• Intermediate level of Control Valve experience preferred.
• Preferred to know control tube bending
