Job summary

Crane Company in Montgomery, TX, seeks a production supervisor to oversee vacuum jacketed pipe manufacturing. You will lead welding, shop-floor scheduling, and engineering support, coach teams, and drive safety, quality, and on-time delivery while improving processes and production cells.

Requires a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Production Management, 3–5 years of leadership experience, and strong knowledge of Lean, scheduling, and MRP systems.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Engineering or Production Management.
• Unimpeachable ethics.
• Three to five years of prior experience in similar or closely related job with proven leadership.
• Advanced knowledge of Lean techniques with track record of implementation.
• Thorough knowledge of production scheduling and enterprise MRP systems.
• Strong leadership, decision-making, and professional communication across levels.
• Organized and self-motivated; able to manage multiple priorities.
• Relentless about continuous improvement.
• Thorough knowledge of manufacturing methods, equipment, and drawings; able to interpret specifications.
• Computer literacy in shop floor control and inventory applications.

Responsibilities

• Build and communicate daily shop-floor schedules, job sequences, and assignments; review material, equipment, and labor before releasing work.
• Monitor welding, machining, processing, and assembly; ensure compliance with drawings, procedures, inspections, and safety.
• Review daily schedule attainment, output, quality, and WIP; address missed targets and assign recovery actions.
• Compare actual production with schedules; identify delays, assign corrective actions, and follow up to completion.
• Coordinate maintenance and downtime with production schedule; verify safe operation of equipment.
• Translate monthly production requirements into weekly/daily schedules; flag gaps with Value Stream Manager, supply chain, and Engineering.
