Job summary

Hitachi Global Air Power US, a leading global industrial compressed air manufacturer, is seeking a Value Stream Leader to drive safety, quality, and delivery within a manufacturing area in Michigan City, IN. You will hire, train, and develop team members while executing production plans and improving processes.

As a front-line manager, you will own SQDIP-E metrics, manage daily throughput, and lead continuous improvement with a cross-functional team, reporting to the Value Stream Manager.

Qualifications

• BS Degree in Engineering or equivalent manufacturing experience commensurate with duties and responsibilities.
• 10+ years of functional manufacturing operations experience with emphasis on continuous improvement and organizational transformation.
• Strong presentation skills and ability to communicate across levels and cultures.
• Excel and ERP systems proficiency and data-driven problem solving.

Responsibilities

• Safety: drive proactive safety observations, audits, KYKs and KAIZENs; enforce 6S.
• Quality: ensure quality in daily work and compliance with regulatory docs and certifications; reduce scrap.
• Delivery: meet daily schedule and On-Time Delivery; perform root cause analysis and corrective actions.
• Inventory: manage WIP; optimize line-side presentation and coordinate with planning and supply chain.
• Productivity: optimize staffing vs output; lead cost-reduction and process-improvement projects.
