Job summary

Caterpillar Inc. in Peoria, IL is seeking a Value Chain Designer to design and implement end-to-end value chain improvements and lead cross-functional initiatives across the value stream.

The role focuses on developing network models, identifying cost opportunities, and delivering Sustainable Value Creation. Responsibilities include analyzing value chains, building business cases, and guiding changes across multiple workstreams to optimize performance and reduce disruptions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field is required.
• Experience with value chain design and process improvement is preferred.
• Ability to work across multiple workstreams and drive cost opportunities.

Responsibilities

• Analyzing inbound, value add and outbound value chains to identify opportunities for improvement.
• Developing business cases and capability studies, recommending improvements to stakeholders.
• Implementing new and enhanced processes and tools and governing changes through collaboration across multiple workstreams to ensure alignment.
• Identifying process inefficiencies and wastes of time, money, materials, and energy.
• Designing and implementing end-to-end value chain improvements.
• Managing high-impact, short and long duration value chain improvement initiatives and projects.
• Managing risk and recovery related to foreseeable and unforeseeable value chain disruptions.
