Job summary

Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center in the United States is seeking a Value Based Data Specialist. You will help transform data into insights that improve patient care, strengthen operations, and support financial performance.

You will build tools and dashboards for clinical and operational teams to track performance and enable informed decisions. You will collaborate with clinical and IT teams to ensure data accuracy, accessibility, and usability, leveraging SQL, Power BI, and modern data

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in computer science, engineering, data science, MIS or related field; or
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, data science, MIS or related field and the equivalent of two (2) years of full-time software development experience; or
• Associates degree in computer science, engineering, data science, MIS or related field and the equivalent of four (4) years of full-time software development experience; or
• High School diploma or High School Equivalency diploma with a diploma or certificate in a computer science, or related field and the equivalent of six (6) years of full-time software development experience.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop dashboards and data models that support clinical, operational, and financial decision-making
• Write and maintain complex SQL queries to extract and transform data from multiple systems
• Support value-based care initiatives by delivering insights tied to quality metrics and performance goals
• Partner with clinical leaders, quality teams, and IT to understand data needs and translate them into solutions
• Maintain clear and consistent data definitions so teams can trust and understand the data
• Troubleshoot data issues and ensure accuracy, completeness, and consistency across systems
• Provide support for clinical applications, analytics tools, and dashboards
• Work with external vendors and internal teams to resolve system issues and support ongoing improvements
• Support users in understanding and using dashboards and reports effectively
