Practice Transformation Lead

The Practice Transformation Lead is responsible for supporting The US Oncology Network (The Network) in practice transformation, value-based care, payer program performance, patient experience, care team satisfaction, and quality program outcomes. This role focuses on broader practice transformation with value-based care at its core. The Lead will collaborate with a team of Transformation Leads to partner with practices as change and thought leaders, aiming for outcomes such as improved quality, patient experience, cost savings, and risk mitigation, outperforming peers and competitors in oncology care.

The Lead will engage with Network, Practice, Ontada, & McKesson partners on strategies to transform care with clear value for patients, providers, practices, payers, and programs. Prioritization, pursuit, partnership, and performance are key to align and evolve practices at the right pace. Innovation, change agency, planning, accountability, and leveraging internal & external talents are essential, guided by McKesson's ICARE/ILEAD values.

This position requires coordination across various teams including technology, analytics, regulatory, legal, compliance, quality, revenue cycle, marketing/communications, and payor solutions to streamline efforts, improve solutions, and align with our core vision. Responsibilities include delivering practice transformation initiatives, regulatory compliance, and adoption of value-based care programs such as Medicare MIPS, APMs, EOM, ACOs, and commercial programs (UHC, Anthem, BCBS, Cigna, AETNA, regional payers). The role ensures practices meet key deliverables, deadlines, and maximize performance while minimizing financial and audit risks.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Lead network initiatives targeting practice transformation, aligning with value-based care programs, Network Operations, Ontada, and McKesson teams to ensure consistent guidance, support, and communication. Leverage support and ideas sharing across teams to deliver effective solutions.

  2. Partner with practices to transform oncology clinics to thrive in a value-based care environment through prioritization, best practices, process improvements, monitoring, coaching, and establishing trust as a success partner.

  3. Set and monitor performance goals related to patient experience, quality, and financial outcomes. Collaborate with teams to measure performance, celebrate successes, and retool strategies as needed.

  4. Invest in personal and team growth through collaborative learning, knowledge sharing, and leading initiatives that support the network's evolution and broader team success.

  5. Achieve or exceed financial goals related to revenue, costs, and savings for the network, practices, and team.

Minimum Requirements

Bachelor's degree in a related field and 7+ years of relevant experience. A Master's degree or equivalent experience is preferred.

Critical Skills
  • 5+ years in healthcare delivery, business, strategy, or consulting.

  • Experience leading change and engaging teams, practices, and providers.

  • 7+ years in process improvement and redesign with proven success.

  • Knowledge of regulatory programs, clinical quality measurement, and healthcare analytics.

  • Understanding of healthcare initiatives and market trends.

  • Clinical transformation and program management experience.

  • Ability to develop training materials and support tools.

  • Proficiency in MS Office, Teams, Visio, Smartsheet, Miro, etc.

Additional Skills
  • Strong communication skills and ability to simplify complex concepts.

  • Experience managing multidisciplinary projects and leading teams.

  • Ability to work with diverse stakeholders at a fast pace.

  • Knowledge of value-based care and quality payment programs.

  • Experience with oncology clinical and operational processes.

  • Experience driving technology adoption in clinical settings.

Working Conditions
  • Remote or hub office environment.

  • Up to 40% travel for engagement and collaboration.

We offer a competitive total rewards package, including base pay, bonuses, and long-term incentives. The pay range for this position is $102,100 - $170,100, aligned with McKesson's pay philosophy and regulatory compliance. For more information on benefits, please click here.
