Job summary

Amgen, based in Thousand Oaks, CA, seeks a Value & Access Insights Associate Director for Obesity to collaborate across Global and US teams. You will deliver analytics, dashboards, and launch-ready tools to support pricing, access and contracting decisions, aligning with payer strategies.

The role requires advanced analytics, payer market understanding, and cross-functional collaboration with Marketing and Contracting teams. Hybrid work with on-site 2 days weekly is anticipated.

Qualifications

  • Doctorate/Master/Bachelor/Associate/High school level degrees as listed in qualifications.
  • Experience with payer, contracting, and pricing strategies is preferred.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with ability to handle complex data.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with Global and US Value & Access, US Coverage & Pricing, Market Access, and other teams to deliver analytics and tools.
  • Support deal modeling, segmentation, and price elasticity analyses at launch.
  • Develop modules for contracting platforms and payer marketing insights.

Value and Access Insights Associate Director, Obesity
What you will do

In this vital role you will partner with Global and US Value & Access, US Coverage & Pricing, Market Access, Patient Access,MariTideUS commercial team, and CD&A to deliver business analytics, dashboards, and launch-ready tools to assist theMariTideCoverage & Pricing leads with deal modeling, segmentation, pull-through and price elasticity capabilities at launch.

In the face of a US health care system growing more complex day-by-day, we must constantly adapt and evolve our strategiestoensureour patients haveappropriate accessto our medicines. The US Value & Access(V&A)InsightsAssociate Directorwill play a critical role in monitoring,diagnosing,and addressing payer obstacles and challenges. In this role, you will partner withUS Payer Marketing teamsto builda deep understanding of the US managedmarketsenvironment forObesityproducts. You will provide integrated analysis combining multiple primary and secondary data sources to uncover deep insights that will guide payer,access,and reimbursement strategies.

Flexible Commuter role to Thousand Oaks, CA office. You will work on-site a minimum of 2 days a week.

Responsibilities
  • Build upon existing, targeted payer control deep-dive analyses (e.g.CVSZepboundexclusion, oral steps) and integrate into weeklyNBRx/TRxtracking
  • Evaluate partner capabilities to generate and share actionable pricing, coverage,demandand affordability data to inform coverage and pricing strategies for reimbursed segment
  • Build Obesity-specific modules within US V&A contracting deal modeling platforms (Contracting-IQ), building on efforts in 1H ’26 to incorporate Obesity market data into the analog library
  • Triangulate data sources (Clarivate, MMIT, partner data) to refine employer segmentation and targeting
  • Design and build Employer-specific modules within Contracting-IQ to support direct employer contracting
  • Build CAP-AI for Obesity for dynamic copay / patient access support, including interplay with cash
  • Partner with Payer Marketing and Pricing/Contracting and Brand Marketing teams to build and prioritize analytics and insightsplanin support of value and access strategyforMariTide.
  • Understand pharmaceutical ecosystem and data sets including medical and pharmacy claims (ex. IQVIA LAAD, Symphony Claims), prescription (ex. IQVIA NPA), outlet (ex. IQVIA DDD)and Payor Coverage (MMIT, Clarivate)

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with new product /indicationlaunchespecially incardio or metabolic diseasearea
  • Working experienceon Analytics of products withPharmacy benefit usage.
  • Understanding of PBM account/formularystructure and contracting process
  • Prior experience in contracts and pricing, direct payer experience or value marketing and have a good foundational understanding of the US payer environment anda strong foundationin the U.S. healthcare market
  • Excellent conceptual problem-solving skills withdemonstratedability to bring structure tovaguely defined problems, pragmaticproblem-solvingapproach, and manage execution
  • Exceptional written/oral communication skills and executive presence across functions and acrossdifferent levelsof leadership
  • Authoritative command of complexity and ambiguity; ability to see the big picture; ability to collect, digest and assemble information to enable relevant business analyses
  • Strong leadership skills with a demonstrated ability to influencedifferent styles
  • 5+ years ofhealthcare experience in the biopharmaceutical industry, health care, and/or strategy consulting with specific experience andexpertisein coverage, access and reimbursement driversimpactingthe biopharmaceutical industry
  • High degree of analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Exhibits strong understanding of business strategies

The expected annual salary range for this role in the U.S. (excluding Puerto Rico) is posted. Actual salary will vary based on several factors including but not limited to, relevant skills, experience, and qualifications.
