Job summary

BPM is seeking a Senior Valuation professional to join its Transaction Advisory team in the San Francisco area. You will work directly with Firm leaders and client executives to provide financial due diligence and valuation services.

You will deliver high-quality valuation and financial modeling, identify critical issues, and propose strategies. BPM supports remote-first operations and flexible work arrangements.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in business, finance, economics, applied mathematics or similar degree is required.
  • 2-4 years’ experience in business valuation at a valuation, consulting, accounting, or investment banking firm.
  • Progress towards CFA, ASA, CPA and/or CVA will be considered a plus.
  • Strong foundation of financial valuation requirements for fair value analyses under financial reporting requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver high-quality valuation, financial modeling and transaction-related services to a wide variety of clients.
  • Identify critical valuation issues and propose strategies to reach a resolution.
  • Stay abreast of current business and economic developments relevant to valuation issues.
  • Perform reviews of third-party appraisals for audit support purposes

Position Overview

Get out of the busy season grind, get in front of the clients, and put those number-crunching, detail-oriented skills to use advising clients on their M&A/Transaction Advisory activities. As part of BPM’s Valuation team, you will be working directly with Firm leaders and client executives to provide financial due diligence. The Transaction Support Service Line offers our clients assistance with M&A activities, buy-side due diligence, sell-side due diligence, and working capital assistance.

Responsibilities
  • Deliver high-quality valuation, financial modeling and transaction-related services to a wide variety of clients.
  • Identify critical valuation issues and be a force for solving problems in an efficient manner. Research, propose, and execute relevant strategies to reach a resolution on such issues.
  • Stay abreast of current business and economic developments relevant to business valuation issues and issues related to a specific industry of interest.
  • Perform reviews of third-party appraisals for audit support purposes
  • Assist in business development efforts and collaborate with other BPM practices to build cross-functional relationships
  • Maintain positive and productive relationships with clients and enhance services provided to clients through the effective use of technology, tools, staff utilization, and project management skills.
  • Be responsive and efficient while enjoying the culture of a high performing team that cares about working with each other to provide excellent services to clients.
  • Champion sustainable workplace practices by supporting remote-first operations, promoting paperless workflows through digital collaboration tools, participating in recycling initiatives to minimize paper use, and consistently demonstrate alignment with BPM’s values.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in business, finance, economics, applied mathematics or similar degree is required. Advanced degree in business or finance preferred.
  • Minimum of 2-4 years’ experience in business valuation at a valuation, consulting, accounting, or investment banking firm.
  • Achievement of or significant progress towards a CFA, Accredited Senior Appraiser (ASA),CPA and/or CVA will be considered a plus.
  • Strong foundation of financial valuation requirements for fair value analyses under financial reporting requirements required.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and Excel is required. Experience with Crystal Ball and advanced analytical tools preferred.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills; strong business and financial statement analysis skills, solid understanding of the capital markets, and client and staff management skills are required.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and growth mindset required.
  • Understanding of derivatives and advanced modeling techniques for companies in the life sciences and technology industries strongly preferred.

  • Candidates located in the San Francisco Bay area or Southern California preferred
  • While our base salary and bonus structure are competitive, we are unable to offer relocation assistance at this time

$77,000 - $120,000 a year
