Job summary

BPM is seeking an Accounting Advisory Associate II to support a portfolio of private company clients. You will perform key accounting functions such as month-end close, reconciliations, journal entries, and financial reporting while collaborating with managers and senior consultants to drive improvements and system implementations.

The ideal candidate has a BS/BA in accounting or related field, 3+ years in public accounting or industry, CPA pursuit, and strong communication.

Qualifications

  • BS/BA in Accounting, Finance, or Business Management.
  • Pursue CPA designation.
  • Minimum 3 years' public accounting or industry accounting experience.
  • Experience with data conversions, interfaces/integrations, and ERP reporting.
  • Experience with QuickBooks, Intacct, NetSuite or similar platforms.
  • Familiar with Bill.com, Expensify, Concur a plus.
  • Demonstrated leadership and strong communication skills.
  • GAAP knowledge preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Manage accounting services for clients including month-end close, A/P, A/R, journal entries, and financial statements.
  • Work on engagement teams and support managers on small to mid-size private company reports.
  • Participate in multiple engagements and coordinate with client personnel during implementation.
  • Partner with senior consultants to assess ERP implementation needs and craft innovative solutions.
  • Contribute as a team member, analyze information, and recommend solutions.
  • Participate in special projects for client growth and learning.

As an Accounting Advisory Associate II, you will support a portfolio of private company clients by performing key accounting functions, including account reconciliations, month-end close activities, journal entries, financial reporting, and cash management. You will collaborate with managers, senior consultants, and client stakeholders to deliver high-quality accounting and advisory services, assist with process improvements and system implementations, and help clients strengthen their financial operations. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, client-focused, and able to manage multiple priorities while providing insightful recommendations and exceptional service.

Accounting Advisory Overview

BPM’s Business & Outsourcing Services team provides comprehensive financial and business advisory services to private, owner-run companies, including family-owned businesses and start-ups. We do this by providing outsource accounting services, cash flow modeling, financial reporting. We also represent companies in securing loans and financing, develop succession plans and exit strategies, and support company growth through tax planning, risk management, system and processes optimization and merger and acquisition integration.

Note: This position is onsite for candidates located in Sioux Falls, SD. Candidates residing elsewhere in the U.S. who are within commuting distance of a BPM office will be expected to follow a hybrid work schedule.
You Have (Requirements)
  • BS/BA in Accounting, Finance, or Business Management
  • A desire to pursue your CPA.
  • Minimum3 years' experience in public accounting and/or industry as part of an accounting function.
  • Experience with data conversions, interfaces/integrations, reporting and customization within various ERP systems.
  • Experience using QuickBooks, Intacct, NetSuite and/or other accounting platforms.
  • Working knowledge of Bill.com, Expensify, and/or Concur is a plus.
  • Demonstrated leadership experience.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Able to work with multiple clients and projects concurrently.
  • Ability to synthesize all forms of research into clear, thoughtful, actionable deliverables.
  • Knowledge of GAAP is preferred.
You Will (Job Responsibilities)
  • Manage accounting services for clients like assist in month-end close, including A/P, A/R, journal entries, account reconciliations and assisting in the preparation of financial statements.
  • Work on engagement teams and support managers on small to mid-size private company management and compilation reports.
  • Participate in multiple engagements and interact with client personnel throughout the implementation.
  • Partner with senior consultants to assess client ERP implementation needs, assist in crafting innovative solutions that span different subject matter domains and implement these plans to exceed the client’s expectations.
  • Be a contributing membertothe team, soaking up information and competently analyzing and prioritizing information to make appropriate recommendations and suggest solutions.
  • Participate in special projects for our clients that provide further growth and learning experiences, as needed.

$78,000 - $96,000 a year

*The salary range provided is intended for candidates in the San Francisco Bay Area who meet the minimum requirements of the position. Candidates who do not reside in the San Francisco Bay Area, do not meet the minimum requirements, or exceed the requirements are encouraged to apply and a recruiter will provide you with a range specific to your location and qualifications.
