Job summary

Valuation Research Corporation is seeking a software applications professional to combine valuation expertise with technology. The role focuses on investigating differences across valuation models, supporting onboarding reviews, and improving processes and tools for technology-enabled valuation solutions to clients.

You will compare results across proprietary models, examine inputs and configurations, and work with portfolio valuation teams to classify and resolve issues.

Qualifications

• 2–4 years of professional software application development and support experience.
• 0–2 years’ work experience in a financial analysis role. Prior M&A experience at a valuation firm or public accounting firm is a plus
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Finance, Accounting or Economics. Coursework in valuation/financial statement analysis is a plus
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with strong verbal and written communication skills
• Progress towards ASA, CFA, or ABV designations is a plus
• Working/advanced knowledge of Excel
• Self-starter with ability to master new tasks quickly
• Ability to manage multiple assignments and priorities in a dynamic team setting
• Ability to work flexible hours around critical due dates
• Current authorization to work in the United States without visa sponsorship now or in the future

Responsibilities

• Compare valuation results across proprietary models for client portfolios.
• Investigate differences in inputs, assumptions, calculations, market data, and mappings to identify divergence.
• Determine whether differences are caused by data, inputs, model configuration, software issues, or method variations.
• Collaborate with portfolio valuation teams to classify issues and decide resolutions.
• Assess materiality and recurrence of differences and escalate to senior team members as needed.
• Document findings, decisions, and evidence; retest changes to confirm resolution.
• Document software issues clearly so developers can reproduce and fix them.
• Support onboarding validation by ensuring data, mappings, configurations, and results meet readiness criteria.
• Turn recurring findings into stronger processes, validation checks, training materials, and tech improvements.
