Job summary

Morgan Stanley seeks a VP-level Valuation Risk Controller in Valuation Control to perform Independent Price Verification (IPV) for a global asset portfolio, leveraging external data sources and financial models. Qualifications

• Advanced understanding of Finance functional area, product and/or client segment.
• Minimum 7 years of relevant experience.
• Solid background in and understanding of financial markets and products.
• Ability to adapt to a dynamic environment with shifting priorities.
• People management experience is an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with Finance and Firm colleagues on IPV deliverables.
• Lead a significant set of deliverables leveraging advanced finance knowledge.
• Identify emerging risks and contribute mitigation strategies.
• Act as a role model; uphold Firm values and standards.
• Undertake IPV of a global asset portfolio using external data and models.
• Identify and close control gaps within the pricing framework.
• Discuss IPV results with traders and strategists, explain methodologies.
• Review valuation and risk models with model developers.
• Understand global markets and portfolio impacts; monitor movements.
• Enhance processes in collaboration with Technology teams.
• Manage and develop the team; support professional growth and retention.
• Translate Firmwide goals into actionable department objectives.
