Munich Reinsurance America, Inc. is seeking a seasoned actuary to serve as Head of Valuation for its US Life Reinsurance business.

The role reports to the Chief Actuary of Munich Re Life US and is responsible for valuation processes supporting IFRS 17, Solvency II, and US statutory reporting. The Head of Valuation leads a team of ~15 with three valuation leaders and engages with senior management, auditors, and regulators to deliver accurate assumptions, projections, and insights across life

Qualificações

• 10+ years of progressively responsible actuarial experience in valuation.
• Proven ability to lead multi-layer actuarial teams and collaborate with senior leaders.
• In-depth knowledge of US statutory valuation requirements (NAIC guidance).
• Knowledge of IFRS 17 and Solvency II preferred.
• Exceptional communication and stakeholder-management skills with senior executives.

Responsabilidades

• Lead valuation across all lines of business (Individual Life, Life/LTC, Disability, LTC, Group Life/Long‑Term Disability, Longevity).
• Oversee quarterly valuation processes across all reporting frameworks.
• Approve valuation methodologies under each framework and ensure data/model readiness.
• Define model and data requirements for Model Development and Reinsurance Operations.
• Partner with Assumption Governance to maintain valuation assumptions and controls.
• Deliver management reporting, financial analysis, and actionable insights to senior leadership.
• Lead strategic planning, forecasting, and risk assessments related to valuation.
• Develop and mentor valuation staff and communicate complex matters clearly to diverse audiences.
