Job summary

UBS is seeking a qualified analyst in Chicago to join the HOLT Model Research team within Equity Research, focusing on accounting research, modelling and data-driven valuation insights.

You will analyze regulatory developments, pull large datasets, refine the HOLT framework, and contribute to published research and internal docs. The role requires strong accounting acumen, familiarity with finance markets, and willingness to relocate to Chicagoland.

Qualifications

• BS or MS in Accounting, or BS or MS Finance-related disciplines with high technical accounting competence required.
• CPA and/or CFA designation, or active pursuit of designation is a plus.
• Ideally 1+ years of experience in Equity Research, Public Accounting, Investment Banking, or a Financial Analyst role.
• Passion for equity markets and a strong understanding of valuation and corporate performance.
• Experience with large datasets (Databricks, Python, SQL, R) is highly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Conduct accounting research on regulatory developments and assess implications for valuations and the UBS HOLT framework.
• Pull large datasets from multiple databases, derive insights, troubleshoot issues, and use data to inform decisions.
• Develop expertise in financial statement analysis and accounting adjustments to improve the HOLT framework.
• Assist in designing, testing and validating enhancements to the framework using the HOLT dataset spanning decades.
• Contribute to published written research and internal documentation communicating findings and investment implications.
• Collaborate with a global team to provide clients with investment insights and act as an accounting expert to the HOLT Model Research Team.
