Job summary

Dayco is seeking a Validation Engineering College Co-op to apply engineering principles in a real-world setting while developing technical, analytical, and leadership skills. Based part-time at our Troy, MI Tech Center, you will support engineering validation and product development by assembling and calibrating test systems and conducting diverse tests to ensure accurate data.

You will work alongside experienced engineers and leaders, gaining mentorship and hands-on exposure to manufacturing

Qualifications

• Engineering Mathematics coursework (Calculus, Differential Equations, or equivalent).
• College-level English Composition/Writing courses completed.
• High GPA (3.0+) and 12+ credits during regular semesters.
• Authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.
• Ability to read and interpret complex blueprints, engineering drawings, and electrical schematics.

Responsibilities

• Assemble, install, and calibrate mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electronic test setups according to engineering specifications.
• Execute rigorous environmental, durability, thermal, and lifecycle testing on various vehicle components and systems.
• Inspect tested parts to identify the root cause of component defects, structural cracks, or electrical malfunctions.
• Document results by maintaining detailed logs, taking failure photos, and compiling data sheets for engineering review.
• Perform routine calibration, maintenance, and troubleshooting on specialized lab test fixtures and machinery.
