Job summary

Cintal, Inc. in Tucson, AZ seeks a Junior Software Test Engineer to support testing and validation of mining equipment. You will verify software and control system functionalities and document results, collaborating with mechanics, technicians, and operators.

The ideal candidate has 1–2 years of experience and a B.S. in engineering. This hybrid role involves 20% office work and 80% shop/field activities with strict safety PPE requirements.

Qualifications

• 1–2 years of experience in test engineering or related field.
• B.S. in engineering required.
• Familiarity with V&V, system integration testing, and control systems preferred.
• Experience with heavy equipment/mining equipment is a plus.
• Strong collaboration with mechanics and technicians is essential.

Responsibilities

• Plan, execute, and document machine-level software testing.
• Collaborate daily with engineers, mechanics, operators, instrumentation technicians, supply chain, and logistics teams.
• Work within a team comprising team leaders, senior engineers, and junior engineers.
• Operate in a hybrid environment with 20% office work and 80% shop/field activities.
• Follow safety requirements and use PPE, including boots, safety glasses, and uniforms.

• Support testing and validation of large mining equipment.
