Job summary

CampusPoint is looking for a Test Engineer based in Dayton, Ohio to support environmental and reliability testing of electronic products. Compensation: $45/hr

Availability: Monday - Friday, 8am - 5pm. This role will last for 1 year and evaluated from there.

Our client's team develops advanced positioning, machine control, and automation technologies for earthmoving and paving equipment. Leveraging technologies such as GNSS, optical total stations, lasers, and sonic sensors, we create innovative solutions that improve accuracy, productivity, and performance in demanding construction and industrial environments.

We are seeking a hands‑on Test Engineer to support environmental, vibration, and reliability testing of electronic products throughout the development lifecycle. This role is ideal for an engineer who enjoys working in a laboratory setting, building test setups, executing validation plans, and collaborating with cross‑functional engineering teams to ensure products meet performance and durability expectations.

Job Duties
Test Execution & Validation
  • Execute vibration, environmental, and stress testing on electronic products and systems.
  • Perform testing in accordance with Design Verification Plans and Reports (DVP&R).
  • Monitor test activities, collect data, and document results.
  • Identify, troubleshoot, and communicate test anomalies or failures.
Lab Operations & Test Infrastructure
  • Configure and maintain test setups, fixtures, instrumentation, and laboratory equipment.
  • Support development and improvement of lab processes and testing capabilities.
  • Ensure proper calibration, maintenance, and operation of testing equipment.
  • Assist with environmental chambers, vibration systems, and data acquisition equipment as needed.
Documentation & Data Management
  • Maintain accurate test records, reports, and documentation.
  • Ensure data integrity, traceability, and compliance with internal quality standards.
  • Utilize Jira and other engineering tools to track testing activities, issues, and project status.
  • Provide timely updates and clear communication regarding test progress and results.
  • Work closely with verification, validation, hardware, firmware, and systems engineering teams.
  • Participate in test planning, design reviews, and problem‑solving activities.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives related to testing processes and product quality.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related technical field.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience working in a test laboratory or validation environment.
  • Hands‑on experience using electronic test equipment, including:
  • Digital Multimeters (DMMs)
  • Power Supplies
  • Experience executing Design Verification Plans and Reports (DVP&R).
  • Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple testing activities and maintain detailed documentation.
  • Experience with environmental chambers, vibration testing systems, or data acquisition platforms.
  • Familiarity with industry standards such as MIL-STD-810, SAE J1939, or similar testing and communication protocols.
  • Electronics assembly, rework, and soldering experience.
  • Experience supporting reliability, durability, or environmental qualification testing.
  • Exposure to machine control, automation, construction equipment, or industrial electronics.
