Job summary

ALTEN Technology USA is seeking a LV Distribution Validation Engineer to establish and execute validation processes from requirements development through report approval. You will manage internal/external test resources and supplier-led validation to ensure durability, reliability, and safety targets are met.

Cross-functional collaboration is required to identify root causes and drive design learnings. The role involves hands-on testing of mechanical/electrical systems, data analysis, and DFMEA

Qualifications

  • BS or MS in mechanical engineering, or related field.
  • 3–6 years of test/validation experience related to LV components and harnesses.
  • Experience with requirements management tools (Polarion or equiv.).
  • Experience with lab/measurement equipment (DAQ, oscilloscope, accelerometers, CAN/LIN/ethernet).
  • Experience with JIRA and Kanban methodologies.
  • Experience in protocol communications (LIN, Ethernet, A2B).
  • Experience in production processes (strip & crimping, welding, stamping, molding).
  • Familiarity with USCAR, ISO 8820, LV standards.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, manage, and execute test plans to validate mechanical, electrical, and environmental failure modes.
  • Collaborate with design engineers to define and capture requirements in the validation plan.
  • Identify test assets, data acquisition systems, and sensors for high-quality test data.
  • Analyze test data and report results clearly and concisely.
  • Support DFMEA activities to cover potential failure modes in the validation plan.

The Component and Sub System Hardware Validation team is responsible for ensuring components and subsystems on vehicles meet all functional and reliability targets needed to facilitate our autonomous mobility service. As a LV Distribution Validation Engineer, you will be responsible for establishing and executing a robust and rigorous validation process from requirements development through report approval. This will include managing internal and external testing resources as well as supplier‑led validation activities which ensure durability, reliability, and safety targets are satisfied. You will work closely with cross‑functional teams to understand root causes of failures, identify mitigation strategies, and incorporate learnings into new designs.

Responsibilities
  • Develop, manage, and execute test plans to validate mechanical, electrical, and environmental failure modes
  • Collaborate with design engineers to ensure that requirements are clearly defined and captured within the validation plan
  • Identify appropriate test assets, data acquisition systems, and sensors to ensure high‑quality test data
  • Analyze test data to provide clear and concise reporting of test results
  • Support DFMEA activities to gain confidence that all potential failure modes are adequately covered within the validation plan
Qualifications
  • BS or MS in mechanical engineering, or related relevant field
  • 3-6 years of test or validation experience related on grommets, terminals, connectors, harness and LV Components (Fusebox, Battery, Battery sensor, etc) including signal integrity
  • Experience with requirements management tools (Polarion or equiv.)
  • Experience with a wide variety of lab and measurement equipment including but not limited to: DAQ, Power supply / E‑load, Oscilloscope, Accelerometers, Thermocouples, CAN, LIN and automotive ethernet
  • Experience with Project Management tools such as JIRA and Kanban methodology

  • EMI / EMC validation experience
  • Familiarity with IEC 60068, GMW 3172, IEEE 802.3, USCAR, AEC & IPC standards
  • Familiarity with Vector tools (CANanalyzer or similar)
  • Power Distribution and Thermal Management (derating strategies)
  • Batteries Chemistry (Lead‑Acid and Li‑ion)
  • Functional Safety (ISO 26262)
Salary Range
  • $110,000-130,000
  • The actual salary offered is dependent on various factors including, but not limited to, location, the candidate’s combination of job‑related knowledge, qualifications, skills, education, training, and experience
