Experis Technology Group is seeking a Validation Engineer 1 in Austin, TX to join a highly technical team that develops test plans, performs electrical and functional validation, and debugs issues for new processor silicon interface features with a strong focus on power management.

You will write comprehensive test plans, execute tests using oscilloscopes and logic analyzers, debug root causes, and contribute to platform definitions while guiding less experienced engineers.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering required.
• 0–2 years of related experience; Master’s with 1 year related experience considered a plus.
• Experience developing and executing platform-level electrical & functional test plans.
• Experience debugging processor and PC platform I/O interfaces.
• Strong communication skills in writing and speaking.

Responsibilities

• Write comprehensive electrical & functional test plans for processor interface validation of processors.
• Execute electrical & functional test plans for client processors using hardware & software validation tools, oscilloscopes, and logic analyzers.
• Debug electrical & functional issues for new processors, driving issues to clear root cause and resolution.
• Provide detailed input into platform definition and review of platform designs used in silicon validation of new processors.
• Deliver technical guidance and training to less experienced engineers and technicians in planning, test, and debugging processor validation.

Our client, a leading technology organization is seeking a Validation Engineer 1 to join their team. As a Validation Engineer 1, you will be part of a highly technical team that develops test plans, completes functional & electrical validation, and debugs issues for new processor silicon interface features with a strong focus on power management. The ideal candidate will bring hands‑on technical problem-solving, clear communication, and a drive to learn and improve test and debug practices.

Responsibilities

• Write comprehensive electrical & functional test plans for processor interface validation of processors.


• Execute electrical & functional test plans for client processors using hardware & software validation tools, oscilloscopes, and logic analyzers.


• Debug electrical & functional issues for new processors, driving issues to clear root cause and resolution.


• Provide detailed input into platform definition and review of platform designs used in silicon validation of new processors.


• Deliver technical guidance and training to less experienced engineers and technicians in planning, test, and debug processor validation.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering with 0–2 years of related experience; or Master’s plus at least 1 year directly related experience (an advanced degree considered a plus).


• Experience and demonstrated technical expertise in the development & execution of platform-level electrical & functional test plans.


• Platform-level electrical characterization experience with processor I/O interfaces is considered preferred.


• Experience and demonstrated technical expertise in debugging processor & PC platform I/O interfaces.


• Knowledge using oscilloscopes, reading schematics and layout documentation, and MS Windows and Office applications; strong written and oral communication skills; ability to communicate across engineering disciplines and management.
