Job description

The primary responsibility of this role is to define performance requirements for and evaluate current and future ADAS (Advanced Driver-Assistance Systems). Activities include preparing systems, vehicles, test equipment, and logistics for evaluation drives, as well as collecting, analyzing, and reporting test data.

We are looking for candidates with experience in simulated and in-vehicle evaluation of ADS/ADAS systems who demonstrate customer-first thinking, strong collaboration with internal and external teams, and the ability to proactively deliver high-quality products.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Conduct Software-in-the-Loop (SIL) and Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL) testing of ADAS and automotive electronics software releases.
  • Configure, modify, and troubleshoot SIL/HIL test benches, test vehicles, sensors, and data-acquisition systems.
  • Support the evaluation and tuning of ADAS/ADS systems, with a focus on North American road conditions and challenges.
  • Support the development and initial implementation of proof-of-concept systems.
  • Configure, modify, and troubleshoot test vehicles, sensors, and data-acquisition equipment.
  • Communicate system performance issues to project leaders, suppliers, and client teams to support the development of appropriate countermeasures.
  • Implement quantitative benchmarking methods for ADAS systems on competitor vehicles using GPS, cameras, and other sensors.
  • Complete data-gathering evaluations on public roads and proving grounds.

Required Qualifications

  • Experience installing, troubleshooting, and using data-acquisition and testing equipment such as CANalyzer, VBOX, Panel 4, or similar systems.
  • Functional knowledge of high-precision GPS systems, including differential measurements and base-station corrections.
  • Basic proficiency in creating or modifying scripts to automatically analyze test and simulation data using MATLAB, Python, or similar programming languages.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or an equivalent technical field.
  • Experience evaluating ADS or ADAS systems.
  • Willingness and ability to travel up to 25% domestically within the U.S.
  • Willingness to support in-person/on-campus work up to 100% of the time, as required.
  • Valid U.S. driver’s license.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with simulation, closed-track, or on-road verification of vehicle control systems.
  • Experience or basic knowledge of ADAS regulatory assessment and protocol testing.
  • Experience or functional knowledge of cloud computing platforms such as Microsoft Azure, AWS, or equivalent.
  • Working knowledge of radar, machine vision, and sonar principles.
  • Experience in robotics and ROS-based development.
  • Experience with a middle-class automotive test license or equivalent.
