Job summary

Skytop Lodge (PA) seeks a Valet Door Attendant to warmly welcome guests, open doors, park and retrieve cars, and support other departments as needed. The role involves outdoor work, driving, and occasional lifting.

Must have a valid driver’s license and be at least 21. Prior bell person or door attendant experience helps, but training is provided.

JOB TITLE: Valet Door Attendant

JOB SUMMARY: A Valet | Door Attendant for Skytop Lodge is a first point of contact for our guests. Responsible for greeting guests, opening doors, parking and retrieving guest vehicles, and assisting other departments when needed.

REPORTS TO: Bell Captain

PRIMARY DUTIES AND FUNCTIONS:

  1. Greet guests upon arrival in a timely manner.
  2. Visually inspect guest vehicles for damages.
  3. Park and retrieve guest vehicles.
  4. Open hotel doors for guests.
  5. Keep assigned areas neat and tidy.
  6. Radio communication between team members when necessary (Front Desk, Operator, Shuttles, Security, Housekeeping, and Maintenance)
  7. Snow and ice removal from vehicles and area.
  8. Starting and tending to lobby fireplace.
  9. Assist with Bellman duties when needed.
  10. Report any maintenance, safety hazards or problems to proper departments.

PRIOR EXPERIENCE: Prior Bell Person or Door Attendant experience is helpful but training is provided.

RESPONSIBLE FOR: Guest vehicles and keys.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Must have the ability to work at tasks that require walking, lifting and carrying. Must be able to lift 75 pounds. Job requires driving. Mobility is essential for this position.

WORKING ENVIRONMENT: Work takes place primarily outside of the hotel, although outside work may be required. Work schedule includes nights, weekends, and holidays. Open availability preferred. Must have the ability to work in both hot and cold climate, sometimes extreme.

HAZARDS ENCOUNTERED: Typical hazards associated with physical work, including lifting, carrying and bending and exposure to various weather conditions, hot, cold, ice, sleet, snow, rain etc.

EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS: Ability to read, write, speak and understand the English language.

SPECIFIC KNOWLEDGE REQUIREMENTS: After training, have knowledge of the hotel layout and grounds, surrounding communities and departmental procedures.

PERSONALITY REQUIREMENTS: Must be friendly, hospitable, courteous, service oriented, trustworthy, reliable, flexible and self-motivated.

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS: Must possess a valid driver’s license and be at least 21 years of age.
