Compensation

Pay Rate: $16.45/hour. 30-32 hrs/week, evenings (4pm-12pm).

Responsibilities

• Drive and manoeuvre automatic and stick shift cars in confined, underground facilities, surface lots, or up and down parking garage ramps.
• Return to work stations quickly to facilitate optimum customer flow.
• Handle each vehicle with care and attention, and follow all facility safety precautions.
• Provide outstanding customer service by responding to customer needs, questions, and problems and/or complaints as quickly and efficiently as possible.
• May assist customers in and out of vehicles.
• Report any accidents, hazards or maintenance requirements, or the presence of any suspicious individuals or activities immediately to the manager.
• Remain vigilant for anything unusual or potentially threatening and inform management immediately.
• Monitor work area and property for safety and security.
• Recognize potentially dangerous situations and respond in the safest and most effective manner.
• Participate in all safety and security trainings within the market.
• On an exception basis, a valet attendant may be required to perform cashier duties or light garage maintenance duties.

Required Qualifications

• Must know how to drive a manual and automatic transmission passenger vehicle.
• Possess math skills sufficient to calculate time and money.
• Must be able to understand verbal instructions and act accordingly in a timely manner.

Eligibility Requirements

• Valid driver's license; depending on location, may require a valid driver's license from the state in which the employee works.
• Must be willing to pass a math test as part of the selection process.
• Must be willing to submit to a drug, background investigation and MVR/Driving Record check as part of the selection process.
• Must be willing to work out of the Chicago area.
• Must be willing and able to work outdoors and be exposed to all types of weather elements.
• Must be able to stand for extended periods of time.
• Must be able to walk to or move to assist customers in a timely manner; In some cases, must be able to travel up and down parking garage ramps in order to assist customers and address garage issues.

Preferred Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Professional experience parking cars or working as a valet attendant.
• Prior customer service industry experience.
• Possess excellent communication skills in order to facilitate interaction with co-workers, superiors, and customers.
• Possess strong time management skills and ability to perform in a fast-paced environment with high customer volume.
• Positive attitude and strong customer focus.
• Ability to grasp, push, scoop, and lift up to 50 pounds as needed.
