Job summary

Shirley Contracting Company, LLC is seeking a full-time truck driver in Lorton, VA. Start times around 6:30 AM with overtime, nights, and weekends possible.

Responsibilities include pre/post-trip inspections, logs, and operating jet and vacuum equipment for storm, sanitary, water lines, and conduits. Qualified candidates have a Class B CDL with tanker and hazmat endorsements, a clean driving record, and must pass DOT physical and drug screening.

Qualifications

• Class B CDL with tanker and hazmat endorsements.
• Clean driving record for last 7 years.
• Must pass DOT physical and drug screening.
• Ability to lift 50 pounds regularly.
• Ability to pass background checks for secure facility access.

Responsibilities

• Knowledge of DOT rules, regulations, and guidelines.
• Complete daily pre- and post-trip inspection and maintain reports.
• Maintain daily mileage logs and work tickets.
• Operate jet and vacuum equipment for storm, sanitary, water lines and conduits.
• Hydro excavation using a high-pressure water gun or lance.
• Safely operate commercial vehicle in diverse conditions (traffic, construction, DC area).
• Maintain vehicle cleanliness.
• Ensure health and safety policies are followed.
• Establish positive relationships with co-workers.

Qualifications

• Clean Driving Record (No major traffic violations, tickets or accidents for the last 7 years.)
• Must pass pre-employment DOT physical/drug screening
• Ability to lift 50 pounds unassisted on a regular basis
• Ability to pass background checks for secure facility access

Responsibilities

• Knowledge of Department of Transportation (DOT) rules, regulations, and guidelines.
• Complete daily pre- and post-trip inspection and maintain inspection reports.
• Maintain daily mileage logs and work tickets.
• Use specialized equipment to jet and vacuum storm, sanitary, water lines and conduits.
• Hydro excavation by using a nozzle attached to a high-pressure water gun or lance to soft dig into the ground.
• Safely operate commercial vehicle while driving and maneuvering in a variety of situations, such as heavy traffic, construction sites, and tight areas within Virginia, Maryland and the District of Columbia.
• Maintain assigned vehicle(s) to a high standard of cleanliness.
• Ensure the company’s health and safety culture, policies and requirements are met.
• Establish and maintain a positive working relationship with co-workers.

Applicants must be 18 years of age and currently authorized to work in the US on a full-time basis in order to be considered.

For this role the base hourly range is $25.00-$35.00. Compensation may vary outside of this range depending on a number of factors, including a candidate’s education, experience, skills, and geographic location. Base pay is one part of the Total Compensation Package that is provided to compensate and recognize employees for their work.
