Job summary

Plug Power, Inc. is seeking a Vacuum Technician in Lafayette, Indiana to set up, install, monitor, and maintain vacuum pumps and leak detectors on cryogenic vessels to achieve high vacuum. The role is non-exempt and paid hourly.

You will record readings, diagnose leaks, and operate safety gear as required. The position offers comprehensive benefits and opportunities within Operations.

Qualifications

• Education and experience relevant to vacuum technology.
• Close attention to detail.
• Proficient with vacuum reading equipment.
• Experience as a Vacuum Technician.
• Experience using electrical or manual tools (saws, grinders, hand wrenches, etc.).
• Ability to read and interpret technical documents and procedures.
• Knowledge of relative safety standards and willingness to use protective clothing (face shield, gloves, etc.).

Vacuum Technician

Status: Non-exempt (hourly)

Department: Operations

Position Summary

The Vacuum Technician is responsible for the setup, installation, monitoring and maintenance of various vacuum pumps and leak detectors on cryogenic vessels to achieve high vacuum.

Core Duties and Responsibilities

• Set up vacuum pumps
• Install vacuum pumps to cryogenic vessels
• Record vacuum readings accurately and timely
• Set up and use a leak detector
• Diagnose and identify leaks on vacuum systems

Compensation and Benefits

Pay Rate: $23.00 - $33.00
