Job summary

Doncasters is hiring for a Vacuum Melter at our Long Beach, CA facility. The role focuses on operating vacuum furnaces to produce high-quality alloys while following safety and procedural guidelines.

You will interpret heat-related documentation, monitor conditions, and cooperate with the team to ensure efficient production and quality control. Training and certification at multiple class levels are described in our job details.

Qualifications

• Excellent manual dexterity and precision.
• Ability to interpret technical heat sheets and process guidelines.
• Strong reading and comprehension in English.

Responsibilities

• Operate vacuum furnaces to produce high-quality alloys.
• Interpret Heat Sheets and Material Recap Sheets.
• Charge materials, monitor temperature, vacuum and pressure levels.
• Take metallurgical samples and adjust materials as needed.
• Pour alloys into molds and maintain safe conditions.
• Clean vacuum chambers and report malfunctions.
• Direct and communicate with team members as needed.
