Job summary

Doncasters Superalloys of Long Beach in California is seeking a Tundish Builder Operator to join our team. You will perform daily tundish building and breakdown for vacuum furnaces, aligning with melt schedules and ensuring correct specifications.

The role requires a high school diploma or equivalent and experience in manufacturing; prior experience in related metalworking is preferred. Salary ranges from $25.76 to $27.82 per hour, with PTO, 401K and medical insurance.

Responsibilities

• Build tundishes for the vacuum furnaces based upon the most current melt schedule provided.
• Break down used or spent tundish to supply metal shells for tundishes to be built
• Sort refractory from the used furnace linings and tundishes to be reused in tundishes
• Maintain proper inventory of consumables.
• Routinely apply knowledge and skills to troubleshoot and optimize effectiveness of product in the best efficient manner.

The Tundish Build Operator is responsible for the daily activity of building and breaking down of the tundishes used in the Vacuum Furnaces. The Operator will work with the Vacuum Melters to maintain the correct specifications and quantity of tundishes based upon the available melt plan.

• Build tundishes for the vacuum furnaces based upon the most current melt schedule provided.

• Break down used or spent tundish to supply metal shells for tundishes to be built

• Sort refractory from the used furnace linings and tundishes to be reused in tundishes

• Maintain proper inventory of consumables.
