Job summary

Merck is seeking an Operations Manager to lead production areas in our vaccine manufacturing network, driving execution of production objectives and fostering a culture of Safety First, Quality Always. You will supervise union reports, coordinate with Quality, Technical Services, Planning and Global Functions to ensure optimal product quality and quantity.

This role offers opportunities to grow through on-the-job training and leadership development while operating in a 24/7 manufacturing

Qualifications

Bachelor degree or higher with either four years of relevant experience in manufacturing or military service or two years’ experience in a direct Good Manufacturing Practice, biotechnology manufacturing setting with demonstrated leadership skills.
High School Diploma/GED with six years of relevant experience in manufacturing or military service

Responsibilities

First line supervisor with a team of individual contributor Union production direct reports.
Ensure Shift objectives are achieved while reliably supplying quality product at a competitive cost.
Tactical and strategic Shift management, including collaboration with indirect staff.
Promote the behaviors and principles that drive continuous improvement.
Coordinate daily activities and set team priorities; coordinate with other supervisors.
