Lilly is seeking a Scientist for Vaccine Discovery in South San Francisco, CA. This hands‑on bench role focuses on building expertise in virology and immunoassay techniques while supporting vaccine candidate discovery.

Reporting to the Senior Director of Virology, you will screen expression of candidate antigens, run immunoassays, manage inventories, and coordinate with external partners to advance programs with rigorous documentation and compliance.

Qualifications

• BS or equivalent in microbiology, biochemistry, immunology, cell biology, or related field.
• Authorized to work in the United States on a full‑time basis; no visa sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Express and screen candidate vaccine antigens transiently in mammalian cells (e.g., Expi293F).
• Analyze antigen expression by Western blot, dot blot, and flow cytometry.
• Execute immunoassays (e.g., neutralization assays, ELISA, Luminex) to profile responses.
• Prepare and quality‑control reagents to support immunoassays (virus stocks, recombinant proteins).
• Support molecular biology workflows (plasmid design, cloning, isolation).
• Organize inventory and coordinate sample/reagent availability for the team.
