Job summary

Lilly in South San Francisco, CA is seeking a Scientist to join the Infectious Disease vaccine discovery team. This hands-on role focuses on screening vaccine candidates, performing immunoassays, and organizing reagents and data for preclinical studies.

You will work under the Senior Director of Virology, with responsibilities spanning expression, assay development, data analysis, and documentation in electronic lab notebooks. Onsite in South San Francisco.

Qualifications

• BS in microbiology, biochemistry, immunology, cell biology or related field with hands-on lab experience.
• Authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis; visa sponsorship not provided.

Responsibilities

• Express and screen candidate vaccine antigens in mammalian cell culture.
• Analyze antigen expression by Western blot, dot blot, and flow cytometry.
• Execute immunoassays (ELISA, neutralization assays) to profile immune responses.
• Prepare and QC reagents to support immunoassays and workflows.
• Support molecular biology workflows (plasmid design, cloning).
• Maintain organized sample/reagent inventories and study schedules.
