Job summary

Merck is seeking an Associate Principal Scientist to join the Vaccine Discovery Analytical Research team in West Point, PA. You will lead assay development and implement advanced analytical techniques across proteins, peptides and lipids, collaborating to de-risk animal studies and transfer work to downstream organizations.

Qualifications

• Ph.D. with at least 3 years experience in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Biochemistry, Structural Biology, Immunology, or a closely related field.

Responsibilities

• Lead assay development for vaccine analytical work.
• Drive scientific contributions at the program level and mentor junior scientists.
• Engage with partner groups and project teams to de-risk animal studies and streamline transfer of analytical work downstream.
• Demonstrate strong communication and presentation skills and publish relevant work in peer-reviewed journals.
