POSITION SUMMARY: Responsible for the coordination of all vaccine management activities at various Affinia Healthcare site locations. Vaccine management includes ordering, storage, handling and inventory management of vaccines. Responsible for clinic staff training, annual certification and enrollment in VFC Program, and ongoing auditing for compliance standards for all vaccines.
POSITION QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
Education: Graduate of an accredited nursing program or bachelor's degree in health-related field, population health, or quality assurance preferred.
Experience: Minimum of three (3) years' experience as an LPN or RN in nursing or health related field. Analytic/Informatics experience preferred.

FUNCTIONS OF THE JOB
Essential Functions
- Responsible for ordering, receiving, transporting, and the storage of vaccines at various Affinia Healthcare site locations.
- Reports VFC accountability and Inventory for all sites on a monthly basis
- Reports temperature logs to VFC for all sites on a monthly basis
- Verifies all thermometers meet standards for VFC vaccines and are set up properly
- Assures annual reenrollment of VFC for all sites
- Enters all vaccines in Next Gen's Vaccine Inventory module
- Maintains a list of all employees with Show Me Vax access
- Provides input in policies and guidelines for vaccine administration.
- Assists in the development of competency standards and provides training to Affinia Healthcare nursing staff.
- Assures clinic-based immunization administration data is accurately documented in Next Gen and produces a variety of reports to meet compliance and state/federal requirements and to assure safe medication practices.
- Perform Quality Assurance
- Collaborates with other departments including risk management, infection prevention, pharmacy, health information management, nursing, and IT to improve Affinia Healthcare's vaccine program.
- Collects data from electronic health records, patient surveys, interviews, documentation from partnering agencies, and a variety of other sources.
- Processes and interprets data from a variety of sources and systems for evaluation of patient and project outcomes.
- Provides routine reports to Leadership
- Contact 20% of patients per sites who are not up to date on their immunizations according to Next Gen reports
- Performs or assures outreach and education activities targeting parents of children from birth to age 2 (specific age groups) to increase immunization rates
- Perform other duties as assigned.
