Job summary

Kapp Companies in Utah is seeking a Vac Truck Operator & Driver to safely operate vacuum excavation trucks, perform hydro- and air excavation, and expose underground utilities in compliance with DOT regulations.

The ideal candidate has a Class B CDL with Tankers Endorsement, at least 1 year of driver and hydro-vac experience, a valid DOT medical card, and the ability to lift 50 lbs.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year experience driving a Class B commercial vehicle.
• Minimum 1 year experience operating a hydro-vac excavation truck.
• Must have a valid Class B CDL with a Tankers Endorsement.
• Class A CDL preferred.
• Must have a valid Medical Card as per DOT standard.
• Ability to lift at least 50 lbs. multiple times daily.
• Competency and awareness of surroundings to identify safety hazards.
• Comfortable with exposure to various weather conditions.

Responsibilities

• Reports directly to Shop Foreman daily
• Perform pre and post trip inspections on trucks
• Safely operate vacuum excavation trucks for hydro and / or air excavation
• Perform potholing, trenching, debris removal, and daylighting on multiple projects
• Locate and expose underground utilities while preventing damage to existing infrastructure
• Maintain constant awareness while driving, operating on the jobsite, and ensure safe operation around workers, equipment, and utilities
• Familiarize and locate addresses / job sites quickly and efficiently
• Inspect the truck systems daily to ensure all parts are in working order
• Other duties as assigned

Pay:

$28.00 - $34.00 an hour depending on experience

Position Summary:

The Vac Truck Operator safely operates vacuum excavation trucks, performs hydro and air excavation, and exposes underground utilities while complying with all DOT regulations and company safety standards. Our ideal candidate will be familiar with Title 49 Federal regulations and DOT violations.

• Reports directly to Shop Foreman daily
• Perform pre and post trip inspections on trucks
• Safely operate vacuum excavation trucks for hydro and / or air excavation
