Job summary

EK SERVICES INC. seeks a Vac Truck Driver to operate a hydro-vacuum truck using pressurized water and vacuum to excavate around utilities. You will manage loading, routing, and documentation while following safety procedures.

The role requires a CDL-B with Tanker endorsement (A-licence preferred) and 2–5 years of commercial driving experience, including dump truck exposure. Full-time with health and retirement benefits offered.

Qualifications

• Two to five years commercial driving experience; one year as dump truck preferred.
• CDL Class B license with Tanker endorsement required; CDL Class A preferred; airbrake endorsements a plus.

Responsibilities

• Operate vacuum/tanker truck to load and transport extracted material from sites.
• Pull hoses and connect to tank or extraction mechanism; monitor fluid/material amounts.
• Deliver vacuum service following safety procedures and operate hoses and related equipment.
• Navigate congested communities and tight rural areas as needed.
• Read work orders and document performed work.
• Use hand tools and equipment associated with the vehicle.
• Understand and follow DOT & OSHA regulations and EK Services Health and Safety Practices.
• Handle required paperwork and maintain accurate driver logs.
• Perform pre- and post-trip inspections; maintain truck logs per regulations.
• Ensure materials and equipment are secured; keep truck and compartments clean.
• Maintain current medical certificate and drive responsibly; obtain permits and manifests.
• Record keeping for truck maintenance and routine grease of moving parts.

EK SERVICES INC. us an underground utility contractor seeking a Vac Truck Driver!

POSITION SUMMARY:

A hydro-vacuum truck Operator/Driver will operate a non-destructive method of excavating as an alternative to mechanical equipment or hand-digging, as well as being prepared for the labor involved. The Vacuum Truck uses pressurized water and a vacuum system to quickly, safely, precisely and cleanly excavate around utilities.

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Operate vacuum/tanker truck to load and transport extracted material from sites
• Pulls hose(s) from the hose tray and connects one end to the truck and the other end to a tank or mechanism for extraction. Monitors the amount of fluid/material extracted and the amount of fluid/material the vacuum truck is lawfully allowed to haul, and other situations presented by the site or the customer
• Delivers vacuum service in accordance with operation training and safety procedures including operating the flow, operation and functionality of 2 and 3 inch hoses, tank and flex hoses.
• Routes may require Drivers to navigate through congested communities and confined or tight areas in rural locations
• Reads work orders and documents work performed.
• Uses hand tools and other equipment associated with the vehicle.
• Develop an understanding of DOT & OSHA regulations and EK Services Health and Safety Practices
• Understand and execute all required paperwork
• Routinely perform pre- and post-trip inspections
• Maintains truck log according to state and federal regulations
• Keeps accurate driver logs
• Ensures all materials and equipment are secured properly
• Keeps current medical certificate
• Drives responsibly
• Obtains permits and manifests
• Cleans truck exterior (bed, cab, boom & containment compartment(s))
• Cleans truck interior (cab & containment compartment(s))
• Maintains truck such as grease moving parts and rollers

EDUCATION/TRAINING:

CDL Class B license with Tanker endorsement is required. CDL Class A license preferred, airbrake and additional endorsements a plus.

EXPERIENCE:

Two to five years commercial driving experience; with one YEAR as dump truck preferred.

• Possess a valid Pennsylvania Commercial Driver’s License, minimally a Class B required
• Manual transmission experience a plus
