Job summary

Clean Harbors, Inc. is seeking a Class B Vacuum Truck Route Driver (Vacuum Sales and Service Representative) in Kent, OH to manage a route and operate a Vacuum Truck for industrial waste pickups.

You will visit 10-12 customer sites daily, perform on-site work, and ensure compliance with safety and environmental regulations while driving a route-based sales approach.

Qualifications

• Valid Class B CDL license is required.
• Hazmat and Tanker endorsements must be obtained within 90 days of employment.
• Ability to use various mobile devices.
• Work indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions.
• Must pass background check, drug test and physical as required by position.
• Follow OSHA respirator standards for facial hair as applicable.

Responsibilities

• Ensure Health and Safety is the top priority and follow all safety policies and procedures.
• Visit 10-12 customer sites per day.
• Perform manual labor on sites to fulfill customer needs.
• Complete all scheduled services, deliveries, and pickups on time.
• Complete all required documentation and labeling.
• Generate and collect leads for new products and services.
• Sell additional products and services within existing accounts.
• Actively prospect for new accounts on the assigned route.
• Own primary accounts on the route and ensure customer satisfaction.
• Follow all local, state, and federal compliance regulations.
• Safely operate vehicles per USDOT and local requirements.
• Adhere to corporate operating and environmental health guidelines.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Key Requirements:

• Ensure Health and Safety is the number one priority by complying with all safe work practices, policies, and processes and always acting in a safe manner
• May visit 10-12 customer sites per day
• Manual labor on sites to completely fulfill customer needs
• Complete daily scheduled services, deliveries, and pickups in a timely manner
• Complete all required documentation and labeling
• Generate / collect leads from customers for new products and services
• Sell additional products and services into existing accounts
• Actively prospect for new accounts in assigned route
• Primary account ownership in assigned route
• Ensure customer satisfaction at time of service
• Follow all local, state (provincial) and federal compliance regulations and rules
• Safely operate vehicles in accordance with U.S. DOT, local, state (provincial) and federal requirements
• Safely observe all corporate operating guidelines and procedures
• Observe all company environmental health and safety operating guidelines
• Perform other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS

Required Qualifications:

• Valid Class B CDL
• Obtain Hazmat and Tanker endorsements within 90 days of employment
• Use of various mobile devices
• Work indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions
• Perform physical functions per job requirements
• Successfully complete a background check, drug test, and physical, by position
• Per OSHA's Respiratory Protection standard, 29 CFR 1910.34, employees in positions requiring respirators are required to meet facial hair standards.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Commercial driver experience
• Hazmat and Tanker endorsement
• Previous Hazmat experience
• Previous route driving experience
• Operate a manual transmission
• Business to business sales experience
• Strong customer service background
