Job summary

Riverside Transport, Inc. is seeking a professional truck driver based in Suffolk, VA to operate a commercial vehicle safely and legally and transport freight from origin to destination.

The role requires adherence to loading, unloading, and paperwork procedures, plus representing the company responsibly in all interactions. Applicants should be capable of handling physical tasks and maintaining logs accurately.

Qualifications

• Must be able to squat/kneel.
• Must be able to lift, push, or pull up to 50lbs.
• Must be able to sit for several hours at a time while driving.
• Must be able to perform duties inclusive of driving a commercial motor vehicle.
• Must be able to write a complete log.
• Must have vision at least 20/40 corrected.
• Must be able to hear a forced whisper from 5 feet without hearing devices.
• Must have no impairment of the hand, arm, foot, or leg that interferes with operating a CMV.

Physical Requirements

• Must be able to perform duties inclusive of driving a commercial motor vehicle including but not limited to grasping/steering; pushing gas pedal, clutch, and brake with appropriate strength; sitting for several hours; reaching in order to shift gears.
• Must be able to climb in and out of tractor repetitively
• Must be able to dolly up and down trailer
• Must be able to open, close, and lock trailer doors
• Must be able to walk around trailer and stoop to inspect
• Must be able to write a complete log
• Must have vision at least 20/40 corrected
• Must be able to hear a forced whisper from 5 feet without hearing devices
• Must have no impairment of the hand, arm, foot, or leg that interferes with the ability to operate a commercial motor vehicle.
