Job summary

DirectShifts in Michigan is seeking a licensed NP or PA to conduct VA General Medicine examinations, review veterans' records, and complete Disability Benefits Questionnaires (DBQs) per VA guidelines.

The role focuses on independent clinical assessment, thorough documentation, and collaboration with clinical and administrative teams to ensure timely, compliant evaluations.

Flexible scheduling (Full-Time, Part-Time, or PRN) with no on-call duties and no ongoing patient management is available.

Qualifications

• Active, unrestricted NP or PA license.
• Must have a collaborative agreement with supervising physician where required by state law.
• Strong clinical assessment and documentation skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently while following clinical protocols.

Responsibilities:

• Conduct VA Compensation & Pension (C&P) General Medicine examinations.
• Review Veterans' medical history and supporting documentation prior to each evaluation.
• Perform comprehensive physical assessments.
• Complete Disability Benefits Questionnaires (DBQs) accurately and thoroughly.
• Prepare timely, objective, and detailed medical reports.
• Ensure compliance with VA guidelines, HIPAA, and all applicable state and federal regulations.
• Collaborate with clinical and administrative teams to ensure timely completion of evaluations.
