Job summary

Empower Mental Health is seeking a Psychiatrist to perform VA Compensation & Pension evaluations as a non-treatment, non-therapeutic role. You will conduct objective assessments for Veterans, using VA guidelines and standard DBQs, and report findings in VA-required formats.

This is a 1099 independent contractor position with both telehealth and in-person opportunities. The role emphasizes objectivity, structured evaluations, and timely documentation, with flexibility to balance responsibilities

Qualifications

• MD/DO license.
• Strong report-writing and documentation skills.
• Ability to follow structured evaluation protocols.

Responsibilities

• Evaluation & Assessment.
• Conduct structured psychological evaluations for Veterans based on VA guidelines.
• Utilize Disability Benefits Questionnaires (DBQs) and standardized assessment tools.
• Gather relevant history through focused, objective interviews.
• Objective Reporting.
• Document findings clearly and concisely in VA-required formats.
• Provide factual, unbiased assessments without influencing outcomes.
• Complete and submit reports within required timeframes.
• Non-Treatment Role.
• No diagnosing for treatment, therapy, or medication management.
• Maintain strict boundaries between evaluation and clinical care.
