Job summary

Veterans Health Administration, Columbia VA Health Care System, is seeking a Physician Anesthesiologist to deliver comprehensive anesthesia services to veteran patients. The role involves collaboration with CRNAs, patient assessment and perioperative management, and involvement in research and quality initiatives.

The position offers a Monday–Friday 7:00am to 3:30pm schedule with payment of a competitive annual salary, eligibility for CME, and a broad federal benefits package including

Qualifications

• MD degree from LCME-accredited medical school or DO equivalent.
• US medical licensure (any state) as full and unrestricted.
• For foreign graduates, ECFMG eligibility verification may be required.

Responsibilities

• Provide anesthesia care in collaboration with Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetists for veterans undergoing procedures.
• Assess, prepare, and optimize patients for anesthesia and perform perioperative management.
• Supervise anesthesia care across OR, PACU, ICU, ward, and clinic settings.
• Engage in CME and VA continuing education; participate in quality and safety activities.
