Job summary

micro1 is seeking VA-accredited Veterans Service Officers to help evaluate and improve AI systems on veterans benefits topics. This is a short-term, remote contractor role with a 20-30 hour weekly commitment.

You will review questions, write rubrics for disability compensation claims, and cover dependents and survivor benefits, appeals, and decision reviews. You will evaluate AI-generated answers against rubrics and provide clear feedback to the project team.

Qualifications

• Current VA accreditation (VSO representative, County Veterans Service Officer, accredited claims agent, or similar).
• 1+ years preparing and filing VA claims for veterans or their families.
• Working knowledge of disability compensation, dependents and survivor benefits, and appeals.
• US-based.
• Able to start quickly and commit 20-30 hours/week.
• Clear, precise writing.

Responsibilities

• Review sample veterans benefits questions and flag any that don’t sound like what real veterans or family members ask.
• Write rubrics that define a correct, complete answer on service-connected disability compensation, including filing a claim and the evidence involved.
• Cover dependents and survivor benefits (such as DIC and CHAMPVA) and appeals and decision reviews in your rubrics.
• Evaluate AI-generated answers against your rubrics, flagging errors, omissions, and outdated guidance.
• Share clear written feedback with the project team, working asynchronously.
