Job summary

Siemens’ Supplyframe division in Pasadena, CA is offering a Summer 2025 UX/UI Design Intern role. This 10–12 week internship invites students pursuing Graphic Design, Interaction Design, HCI, or CS to work with senior designers on UX/UI projects used by hardware designers and procurement teams.

You will wireframe, prototype, conduct user research, document decisions, and present solutions. A portfolio and basic CSS/HTML knowledge are preferred.

Qualifications

  • Must be actively enrolled in a relevant field of study (Graphic Design, Interaction Design, HCI, CS).
  • Online portfolio with UI/UX examples (mockups, wireframes, prototypes).
  • Basic knowledge of CSS and HTML.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with Senior Designers to improve products and contribute to the UX/UI framework.
  • Document design decisions, rationale and specifications; present solutions to teams.
  • Create process flow charts, wireframes and interactive prototypes.
  • Assist with UX design research, user testing, and insights gathering.
  • Advocate for UX across the organization.

What You'll Be Doing:

Supplyframe, a Siemens company, is an innovative and rapidly growing leader in the electronics component industry. We are currently recruiting students to kick off our Summer2025 Internship Program. We are looking for a talented and ambitious UX/UI Design Intern who will develop products used by millions of Hardware Designers and Purchasing Agents across the Electronics Supply Chain.

  • Collaborate with Senior Designers to improve existing products, bring new concepts to life, contribute to our UX/UI framework and iterate on design concepts based on user feedback, usability testing results, and stakeholder input.
  • Document design decisions, rationale and specifications; present design solutions to internal teams.
  • Create process flow charts, wireframes and interactive prototypes.
  • Assist with UX design research, user testing, and drawing insights.
  • Evangelize UX throughout the organization.
Who/What We Are Looking For:
  • Actively enrolled as a university student and in pursuit of a degree in a relevant field such as Graphic Design, Interaction Design, Human-Computer Interaction, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Online portfolio with examples of UI/UX design such as mockups, wireframes, prototypes, freelance projects or school-related completed projects.
  • Fundamental knowledge of UX/UI design principles such as having an understanding of user research, user personas, information architecture, usability testing, and user-centered design processes. Basic knowledge of CSS and HTML.
  • A commitment to exquisite aesthetics and elegant UI/UX. Passion to create, communicate and collaborate.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbally, across a diverse set of audiences; excellent attention to detail and a user-centric mindset.
  • Adaptable and willing to learn new tools, techniques, and design trends. Show a proactive attitude toward learning and professional growth.
  • Authorized to work in the United States without the need for current or future sponsorship by the company.
Compensation:

The hourly range for this position is $43.27 to $48.08. The actual compensation offered is based on the successful candidate's work location as well as additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education/training.
