Job summary

Shield Consulting Solutions, Inc. is seeking an experienced UX/UI Developer with a TS/SCI w/Polygraph clearance to modernize a data-tracking system. You will design and implement usable interfaces, work with analysts to define user profiles, and ensure accessibility across our applications.

The role emphasizes applying UI best practices, collaborating with designers and engineers, and delivering wireframes, prototypes, and design guidelines to support development teams.

Qualifications

• Five (5) or more years of experience with user-centered design and UI best practices.

Responsibilities

• Join an experienced team modernizing a data tracking and metrics system.
• Develop highly usable end user interfaces and apply UI/UX best practices.
• Collaborate with analysts to research, develop, and document user profiles and performance requirements.
• Conduct task analysis, workflow mapping, and develop user scenarios.
• Create UI design specifications, wireframes, mockups, and interaction guidelines.
• Collaborate with product designers and process engineers to ensure user-centered solutions.
• Perform accessibility and 508 testing to meet regulatory standards.
• Collect and analyze user feedback to guide design improvements.
• Work independently and with cross-functional teams.
• Create interactive prototypes to validate design concepts and communicate with stakeholders.

Job Description

• Join an experienced team working on efforts to modernize an existing data tracking and metrics system.
• The User Experience (UX) developer should be able to focus on developing highly usable end user interfaces, applying UI best practices, and UX principles.
• Work closely with users (analysts) to research, develop, and document user profiles and user performance requirements.
• Conduct task analysis and workflow mapping and develop and test user scenarios.
• Develop UI design specifications and support documentation (e.g., wireframes, mockups, interaction behaviors, and design guidelines), as needed to support development efforts.
• Collaborate with product designers and process engineers to inform application design and ensure user-centered solutions align with workflows and requirements.
• Conduct accessibility and 508 compliance testing to ensure user interfaces meet regulatory and usability standards.
• Collect and analyze user feedback through surveys and behavioral data to guide design improvements and UX decisions.
• Work independently while collaborating effectively with small teams and larger cross-functional groups.
• Create interactive prototypes to validate design concepts and communicate interactions to stakeholders and development teams.

Required Experience

• UI/UX experience
• 508 Compliance
• Five (5) years of experience with a strong background in user-centered design, UI best practices, usability testing, and the software development lifecycle (analysis, design, implementation, and deployment).
• Demonstrate working knowledge of Linux, CSS, JavaScript, and HTML to support UI design, troubleshoot design-related issues, and collaborate with development teams.

Salary: $230,000 - $240,000 annually
