About The Role

We are seeking a Senior User Experience Designer to create intuitive and effective UX solutions for Grainger’s enterprise applications. This role will focus on implementing AI-driven user experiences that enhance how our team members engage with customers.

Reporting to the Director of UX Design, you will collaborate with product managers, engineers, and machine learning teams to design next-generation experiences. While the position is primarily remote, occasional travel to corporate offices and user meetings will be required.

Responsibilities

• Partner with product managers, engineers, and ML teams to design AI-powered user experiences that meet team and customer needs
• Understand emerging AI/ML technologies and their impact on UX design
• Facilitate user and stakeholder discussions to define experience requirements and drive product alignment
• Create early-stage concepts, user flows, and annotated wireframes to communicate design intent
• Consider technical and business constraints while prioritizing and scaling designs iteratively
• Evaluate existing experiences and recommend UX improvements
• Present design rationale and evolution strategies incorporating machine learning
• Develop and maintain design standards and guidelines for AI-driven UX
• Plan and conduct user research, usability testing, and secondary research
  
  

Qualifications

• Formal education in Human Centered Design, Human-Computer Interaction (HCI), or related field
• Minimum 3 years of UX experience working with agile product teams, preferably in corporate B2B environments
• Deep knowledge of UX design, usability, and research best practices
• Experience designing for complex business processes and AI/ML-enhanced solutions
• Contribution to pattern libraries or design systems
• Strong proficiency in wireframing and design tools
• Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills
• Strong facilitation and collaboration skills
• Ability to navigate ambiguity and make informed design decisions
• Portfolio demonstrating ability to simplify complexity and balance user, business, and technical needs
